♰ BASICS
Character's name: Kazutora Hanemiya
Canon: Tokyo Revengers
Canon point: 3 months after being jailed
Age: 15, born Sept 16, 1990
Background: 1 , 2
Abilities:

GO FIGHT KILL Kazutora is a normal human, with no special powers or abilities. He is, however, an objectively capable fighter, which is enhanced by the fact that at twelve years old he suffered a mental break after murdering the brother of the friend he most admired, by accident, to protect the identity of another friend. Unable to handle the burden of that reality, he mentally shifted the blame for it onto the friend he admired; Mikey; and decided the only way to resolve the rotten feelings inside of him was to snuff Mikey out with death, too. All of this to say, Kazutora, while a normal, average teen with above-average fighting skill, has no inhibitors — this functions as a skill all on its own. At age twelve, when he thinks his friend Baji is in danger, he picks up a metal pipe and hits a much older man over the back of the head in a moment of unbridled violence. This unbridled violence “mode” his sick mind sometimes snaps him into leads to Kazutora using weapons effectively and brutally. Almost anything can be a makeshift weapon for him in this state. He snaps into this state when he decides someone is an “enemy”, going to far as to join a rival gang for a chance to kill Mikey with a pipe, and mistaking Baji for a traitor and stabbing him in the back with a long knife. After these hellacious moments often come “clarity” moments where he regrets or can’t cope with what he’s done. In other words: Kazutora is just an athletic, violent teenager, used to fighting and fairly good at it. But when he gets “furious” or decides to kill or feels abandoned, he’ll lose all inhibitors, becoming a brutal fighter who uses weapons effectively, aiming for kill shots. Admittedly, he also goes down fairly easy, so he’s only really effective in sneaky, unkind attacks where the victim isn’t suspecting it. He’d fall to most powerful characters in game, and his lack of inhibition makes him reckless and easy to overpower.

SUVIVOR Kazutora can take a lot of punishment. Part of this is his lack of inhibition when he feels he deserves punishment or can’t fight his way out of his mental disturbia; part of this is because he spent the last three years with the most brutal of brutal in Tokyo, living in a murderer’s wing of a juvenile prison and learning to survive there by any means necessary, bent on his revenge. He also grew up in a household rife with physical and emotional abuse, watching his father beat his mother, and being emotionally manipulated by his mother into picking sides. This trauma led to his ability to “cope” by taking punishment and meting it out. It’s important to note that in future canon, of which this canon point is just the beginning of, Kazutora dedicates himself to repenting through therapy and actually gives up violence and learns to cope with his demons. He may (I hope) eventually work to this in-game as well, at which point he will probably lose (slowly) all of the above skills and be akin to just a normal person with a heinous and PTSD-studded background. In addition, Kazutora is great at stealth and breaking in, using his skills to infiltrate without detection. He can also ride a motorcycle and has basic knowledge of bike maintenance.

♰ SUITABILITY
Strengths: + Kazutora is very loyal to those he feels return the loyalty, and he will take blame or punishment for their sake, and he will defend their honor. So long as they stay true to him. + He is a capable, if not typical, fighter. This gives him confidence in hand to hand combat or any with basic weaponry, of which he can use anything at hand with ease (bats or knives or rope, whatever is available). + Kazutora is rather smart and charming as well as good looking. He uses these traits to help him in situations where he would otherwise be abused. He can either step up to the front and shine or step back and let others take the heat (or glory). + Because Kazutora has no limiters when he fights, he loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe at times and will lose sight of what is important to him. It makes him strong in a fight but weak in the aftermath of it.
Weaknesses: + Kazutora breaks from reality easily. He has his own shadows, naturally, even without the help of others or any particular situation. If a situation is too stressful, he will dissociate and throw the blame on someone else to keep from breaking down completely. + He is extremely violent and, to that point, impatient. If someone is speaking for too long and he is bored, he will attack them. Given, again, that he’s attempting to reform, he will try and curb this tendency, but the environment may make it difficult to do so. + He doesn’t have any additional defense and can go down easily in a fight, once hit. He knows this and compensates by using lackeys or being manipulative in a battle, choosing to use tricks to win instead of just his fists. + He doesn’t like show-offs or arrogance; in a group setting, if he doesn’t feel equal to those around him or if there is someone taking the spotlight without sharing, he will turn away or go off on his own, stating that he just doesn’t belong in a group. He is afraid of rejection and needs reassurance from those around him.

Fears: + Kazutora is deeply afraid of rejection in the form of disloyalty. If he sees someone as loyal to him above all else, and that person betrays him, he mentally snaps quite easily. It is often not logical and is only his perception, but he will still respond with violence, to the point of murder, to rectify this fear.
+ Kazutora is afraid of his father and everything that man exemplifies, including the feeling of being worthless, like an art in a line that, when squished, is simply stepped over.

+ Before being sent back to jail a second time, Kazutora dealt with his fears by accepting any friendship that wanted him, and then, after meeting Baji and realizing that was incorrect, by bullying. And he does love to bully.

+ But in this point in his canon, Kazutora is just starting to try and cope with his fears through a therapist, by talking about his displacement of fault and his dissociation to reality. But likely he has not gotten far in that process.
Desires: + After having spent years in prison, he desired to kill his childhood friend Mikey, for no fault at all other than Kazutora choosing him as the scapegoat to his mental break. In his current canon, he has just reconciled his error in faulting Mikey and is learning to forgive him and himself, but it is a slippery slope that can easily tilt from one end to another, and he can decide to press his anger against him once again.
+ He desires greatly to be seen as an equal and to not disappoint those around him, stemmed from his abusive father telling him he very often was.

+ He wishes to help his friends, even if that wish sometimes flips to a desire to murder them instead. He feels deeply and has trouble parsing out the distinction in those feelings, but the initial cause is to help those he loves.

Regrets: + He regrets helping Mikey in trying to steal him his favorite bike and in killing his brother, even though it was unwittingly. + He regrets, more than anything, stabbing and killing his best friend Baji Keisuke and will live for him and his desires for the rest of his life.
Tethers: + Kazutora has been detached from his family, given their cruel or cold behavior, for years. When he lands himself in jail, his only attachment becomes that of his best friend, Baji, who writes to him every day and keeps a spark of light within him. After he kills Baji, he loses all attachments to the world and decides to commit suicide in jail. It’s only because Mikey forgives him and says he is always a part of Toman, the gang they formed together as friends, that keeps him going. + Therefore, in this point in canon, Kazutora is attached to the friends he still has and to his love of Baji, and Baji’s ultimate desire for his friends not to fight. -

♰ OPT-INS / OPT-OUTS
If you'd like your character to be subjected to the following options at any given time, please answer accordingly. Note that these might temporarily disrupt your established plans.

Harrowings: yes
Curses/Pranks: yes
Imprisonment: yes
Encounters: yes
Loss of control: yes
NOTE: Kazutora has mental instability and deep dissociative moments as well as suicidal tendencies. He is violent although at this point in his cannon he is newly trying to combat that. None of these bother me as a player but they may bother other players as an FYI.
